Ghostly International has put out a bunch of great stuff this year, including Kiln’s Dusker, Matthew Dear’s Asa Breed, and Mobius Band’s Heaven. (They also have a jewelry collection, so you can be the first kid on your block to rock the Ghostly ghost icon as bling.) But the Ann Arbor/New York imprint has been at the forefront of the lifestyle music for forward-thinking cool people for quite a few years now, and like founder Sam Valenti’s heroes at legendary imprints like 4AD and Factory (see below), a Ghostly release is guaranteed to look as cool as it sounds.
