Coming next week, the second album by Fort Romeau is set to further illuminate the London producer’s vision of patient and pristine house music. Insides will be made available on March 31, but can now be heard in its entirety, courtesy of Hype Machine. Give yourself some time and space to properly experience Fort Romeau’s eight-song excursion through warm electronics and lavish dancefloor energy.
The latest single to appear from Fort Romeau’s impending sophomore album, Insides, is “All I Want”, a steamy house jam that balances vibrant synth moods with big dancefloor energy. Stereogum premiered the piano-laced song, saying, “You might miss some of the yearning on ‘All I Want’ unless it’s so loud that it’s pulsing through your earbuds or (preferably) your surround sound.” So get to properly vibing on Fort Romeau’s new track while you wait for Insides to drop on March 31.
With his second Spectral Sound record on the way next week (March 16, specifically), Bay Area dancefloor maven Matrixxman has shared the four-song StuxNet 12”. His new acid-centric release premiered with XLR8R, featuring the original title track split into two distinctive productions and a couple of steely remixes from techno pros Silent Servant and Hieroglyphic Being. Listen to the latest Matrixxman record on SoundCloud.
Taking the reigns of the latest GhostlyCast is Frankfurt DJ/producer Orson Wells, a favorite of ours from the Innervisions and Live at Robert Johnson crews. The versatile house and techno specialist, born Lennard Poschmann, eschews his usual sound to take us deep into the realm of moody, atmospheric drum & bass—with a few pitstops taken throughout the 54 minutes. It’s an engrossing listen that finds an expressive balance of nostalgic and contemporary music, all of which Orson Wells mixes together with his deft touch.
This year, we’re having an official showcase on Wednesday, March 18th, at Swan Dive in Austin. The lineup features Ghostly showcase veterans (Michna, Beacon, Heathered Pearls) and fresh acts alike (Fort Romeau, Matrixxman, Lord RAJA).
