Matthew Dear and director Morgan Beringer have shared the ‘Earthforms’ abstraction. It’s another beautiful, psychedelic visual piece of art that continues the thread of the Beams video series from Beringer.
On October 17, Ghostly International & Cascine present a night of performances by artists from each label for a joint showcase during CMJ at Le Baron in lower Manhattan.

Ultraίsta, the multimedia trio comprised of vocalist/artist Laura Bettinson and multi-instrumentalist/producers Nigel Godrich and Joey Waronker have announced their self-titled debut album which will be released October 2nd on Temporary Residence.
Preceding their eagerly anticipated LP, Ghostly (exclusively in North America) are releasing a limited edition 12” featuring remixes by Four Tet and Matthew Dear of album track “Smalltalk”. We have a video for the Four Tet version of the original.
Favoring mantras over traditional choruses and distilling their compositions to the barest essentials, the band possesses the kind of masterful control over the pure anatomy of a pop song that only comes from having played a significant role in redefining the form in the 21st Century.
Nigel Godrich is known for his production work with bands like Radiohead, Air, Thom Yorke (including Yorke’s new project, Atoms for Peace), Beck, Charlotte Gainsbourg and many more. Joey Waronker is an American-born drummer who’s toured extensively with acts like Beck and contributed to albums for artists like Elliott Smith and R.E.M.
It’s been almost four years since Michna has shared any new material, but he’s been busy nonetheless—he’s done everything from painting to production for the NBA to remixes for DM Stith, Joy Orbison and Kelis.
Moving Mountains demonstrates the result of this endeavor, and the four tracks here provide a neat summation of Michna’s versatility, covering more musical ground in 20 minutes than most artists do in an entire album. Michna also recently shared a mix at Noisey showing his diverse tastes.
